You mean unplug it from charging? Mmmh, I can't imagine why. Does it freeze completely, or does the audio keep playing? If you press F1, F5 or F6 does it respond showing the menu or resizing the window? If you press CTRL+ALT+Del and you check the task manager, do you see RGSS3 Player in the list?
I don't have a laptop myself, so I can't test this, but if I had to guess, this seems like a specific problem with your laptop and RPG Maker together (I presume no such thing happens when playing other games).
Hi man, I just wanted to say I loved your game so much and it has a lot of potentials, thanks for the hard work and if you don't mind I have some suggestions, like : why don't you use unity engine it's awesome for the 2D RPG games, besides you can inspire new techniques from games like "Banner of the Maid", "Rise Eterna" .. etc, I know I'm talking in greedy way but man! you made a master piece, thanks a million time
As for the game engine, I am just one person, and I thought going for something easy to use was better, if I wanted to keep a decent flow of updates (plus, I felt RPG Maker worked fine for the kind of game I had in mind).
My next game will use Ren'py, for similar reasons (that's going to be a sequel to one of my older games). I am not against learning other engines like Unity, but there are a lot of things to consider when starting a project, so I don't want to make promises on whether or not I'd use Unity in the future.
Thank you for playing the game, and letting me know you enjoyed it. :)
About Clothes: 1) That would be great to have a clothing store with several types of outfits (2-5 types). 2) And also the exhibitionist should not be afraid to walk naked (or in bikini) at least at home. 3) Latex outfit bought on the slave district is good to wear on the street at night (and run from guards or toughs) or at least to be home.
Generally, it's too hard to retro-actively go back and add new clothes at this point, at least for general gameplay (RPG Maker is clumsy when it comes to sweeping changes across the game). I might however add new scenes which involve a "wardrobe change". Those are fine to introduce, since they don't mess with the old content.
Just for example: "Uni" and "Third Crisis" (games right here on itch.io) , have different outfits, but some cutscenes have default outfit anyway. But Caliross is a really huge game, maybe it's not work here anyway.
Yeah, the problem is that I didn't consider doing it from the start. If I had planned for it from the beginning, it would have been easy, but at this point, there is just too much to throw away and re-do in order to add proper reactions from NPCs and so on.
The game is really huge and awesome! But... Is there any other dress to wear everywhere on the street? Or other costumes was created only for special places/quests?!
There are two ways to get the merchant pass. The most straightforward is going to the imperial office in Tarkas (same screen as the guilds) and talk to the guys at the front desk (one of the two sells it). You must have reached chapter 2, or they won't sell it, if I remember correctly. Check the walkthrough (CTRL+F "merchant pass"), if you want to read more about the quest that gives the pass as a reward.
As for passenger ships, they can be boarded from Solina's dock and from Rahib's dock (there should be a "captain NPC" you can talk to in both locations).
I'm kinda lost, how do you get to chapter 4? I've already completed the temple and unlocked the royal library. How do complete the part of the quest that says "Solve the mysteries of your people?"
You should have gotten some reminders for this during the game, but you might have missed those. Anyway, in chapter 3 you must also report what you learned about your uncle to your family (they live in a village near Rahib) and Alpharius. You should check the quest "Blood Ties" in the questlog, basically.
Thanks for replying! But i've already completed "Blood Ties", and it's still not triggering my ability to continue my journal to start chapter 4. I've finished all the quests available in Chapter 3 already and am just trying to start Chapter 4 to continue playing the game
So, just to recap: You completed blood ties, and you also completed the temple in chapter 3, correct? Did you exit on the world map recently? If you got the human/sapient transformation from the temple, and you completed the "blood ties" quest, you should have gotten a message when entering the world map (it's the usual reminder to go visit your uncle's desk to start a new chapter).
I *think* it's possible to complete blood ties without exiting on the world map if you talk to Alpharius last, and that would stop the reminder from triggering until you go on the world map again, which is necessary for the option to advance the chapter to become available. If this isn't the case, you might want to upload the savefile on a site like MEGA, so I can take a look at it, and figure out what's wrong.
It's all good! ^_^ Honestly, I wonder if I should have forced people to stay in the final room for each temple until they found everything, specifically to avoid these situations, (but it feels a bit heavy-handed, so I don't like it whenever I do it).
So the music plays, the screen comes up, the menu options comes up and the screen also switches between the two different backgrounds, but when you press, say, enter or the arrow keys, you don't get any response, is that right?
Mmmh... I never heard of this before. If you press F1 does it bring up the option menu for RPG Maker (If so, you can check the keyboard settings)? Do you have other RPG Maker VX Ace games you could try to see if the problem extends to other games from the same engine? Do you have some "unusual" input devices plugged in (like, tablets, off-brand controllers, etc.)? Which version of windows are you on?
There are some scenes with monsters, yes. There are slimes, tentacle monsters, orcs and minotaurs (plus creatures like dryads, succubi, mermaids, etc). Some of these can't be met right away, however (encountering the tentacle monsters, orc and minotaur you can have sex with is tied to quests, for example).
Cast Detect Magic in your bedroom, and it should show something is up with your mirror. Enter, use Push on the button so you can get into the room before the door closes, then you'll get the book for it.
You can't take it off (it doesn't take an equipment slot, but it stays in your inventory permanently). It unlocks a series of mind control scenes around the game. You can't avoid the scenes by any means other than avoiding the NPCs themselves who have them (you can't really know beforehand who can trigger these scenes).
If you don't like being mind controlled, definitely avoid the charm.
How long does it usually take to for the letter to get in to the manor to arrive? Seems to be taking forever, does something need to happen before it arrives?
Hi there, the game is very interesting, yet I'm currently caught into a bug rather unpleasant : After finishing the 3rd temple, I went back through the main door, then went out in the water as a fish. But when I arrive on the waterfall screen, I can't move. Which means I were stuck behind the waterfall in fish form, without any visibility.
I was able to overdo it by using the travel sphere to the 2nd temple, and on hidenpath (which is walking on water) transform back into human, but this can be quite troublesome
I think I know what's the problem: When you left for the waterfall screen, did you exit from the left or right tile, instead of the central one? I think I forgot to update all the exits. This didn't come up before because the central tile is usually the one used (since it's where you appear when you enter the room from the waterfall, and it's in line with the temple's door).
Anyway, this will be fixed in version 0.992, thanks for the report!
This has been a very burning question in mind, so if you can answer it then i'd be very grateful for it. Can you fully transform into a Slime Girl without being limited to an ending? I've been seeking for a title like this in that the female MC can fully transform into a Slime Girl and it would be even better if she could get pregnant with some Slime Girl babies. If you can answer both then, again, I would greatly appreciate it since these are the two most fervent questions that I would go into this project's discord in order to have answered, but if you can answer them here then, again, I would greatly appreciate it. ^-^
I see, that's actually very relieving to hear about the slime pregnancies since i'm hoping a few can result in a chance of birthing slime girls, seriously. ^-^ Is there a Slime Girl transformation as one of the transformation options at the very least? According to the guide there does some to be at least one Slime Girl that the MC can meet and, if it's possible, i'd positively love it if the MC can transform into a Slime Girl through the "Transformations" menu, honestly. <3
I wouldn't want to add a slime girl transformation for a few reasons. One is that it would likely overlap with the mouse transformation in practical applications (you use the mouse to crawl into small spaces, and a slime would be able to do that as well), plus one could imagine being able to stretch over gaps and other stuff which aren't planned.
We are also near the end of the development, adding a new transformation would be too hard to fit now (all transformations are used in puzzles and exploration).
Ah, I see. Damnit... I was really hoping that there'd be a Slime Girl transformation option, but if there's a way to get the MC pregnant with some slime girls then that'd be enough for me I suppose.
I am considering putting the game on there for free once I am finished (although that means paying 100$ for no direct benefit, I am sure there is a lot of potential exposure there). I don't want to try to sell the game, as I'd prefer all my revenue to come from one place (Patreon right now, although I appreciate any kind of donation, of course), and selling something is different from getting donations on Patreon.
I don't think I can do it without putting my name out there, however, so I also have some slight concerns about my privacy/anonimity (I am not trying hard at all to stay anonymous, but having your name next to the game on the largest pc gaming store is in a different league).
Long story short, I'd like to, but I have some reluctance.
Currently, the only library which works for the quest is the royal library, so you must become a noble and then ask the emperor about gaining access to it. He gives you access if you meet some requirements (either if you are part of his harem, if you completed a specific quest for him before, or if your relationship with him is 5 or more).
I plan to add at least 1 more library in the future where such a research is possible, but for now that's the only one.
Just discovered a glitch where if you're staying at the Golden Leaf before starting the cowgirl path, not only does the dream that warns you against locking yourself into it not trigger, but neither do you automatically go to the farm every morning once you are locked it.
I'll make the warning dream trigger no matter what (so even sleeping at an inn or on the map will still let players know). I hadn't done so back then, because I had tried to keep all important scenes from triggering outside, but this one should start regardless of where you are. Hopefully there are no awkward scenarios I am forgetting, but I think it should be fine to have the dream trigger wherever.
The visits to the farm were also locked for similar reasons (I was afraid of, say, moving the players on the other side of the map, if they were staying in Rahib for the night), but it's perfectly fine for Golden Leaf, so I'll just add an exception for it. The fix should go live in version 0.991 of the game.
Yes. Actually, we very recently got a poll on what to work after this month's release. The vampire path as well as Jin and Lea are on top of the list now, so that's likely what we are getting for November (or December, if you aren't a patron).
I got this game ages ago, I don't actually remember how long its been, I've been playing it off and on, decided to come back here to see if you were still updating and holy hell am I looking forward to the new content. But I guess I'm gonna be speedrunning through the first few chapters again lol
(also have you added in any more with the hypnotist at the circus?)
Thank you for your work, porn aside, this has genuinely been a fun game to play, the amount of different paths you can take has kept me occupied for hours on end, idk what my total playtime is but its definitely over 25hrs and I haven't even gotten past chapter 3!. Thanks a bunch and I cant wait to see more of your work!
The version I was playing was 0.983b, I did try going back through your logs to see when it came out, but I couldn't find it, one of the first things I noticed with the latest version was you had patched a bug with an event with the fashion designer (Lana?), and added a CG to one of my favourite scenes so I am very grateful.
Oh, also for future updates, is there a way to take save files from older versions? I can't think of a way to do so myself, but I dunno if you've made some sort of system for that purpose.
Also do you have a discord or something? Because I am definitely going to start keeping track of any bugs I find and would love a place to throw them all at you ;)
Now if you will excuse me, I shall go and place some very well deserved money in your money hole ;)
So it must have been around 7 months ago (the version number goes up by 1 every month nowadays, and we are at version 0.990 now).
In theory, if you play from update to update, you can simply copy/paste the save files (you should also copy/paste the "Myproject" folder, as it contains the system options like sound volume, separately from the saves) and you are good to go. The more time passes between the versions you try, however, the higher the chance there might be something which isn't compatible. It's rare that an update breaks compatibility, however, and I usually mention it when it does. Generally, the worst that happens is that old scenes get updated, but you can't see them without restarting, while new content is generally 100% good to go from an old save.
If you check my patreon page, near the bottom there is a link to a post to join the discord. I kept the post for patrons only, since I am not sure I could mod a larger discord, if it ever came to that. You will remain part of the Discord even if you stop being a patron, though.
Thanks for the generosity, I hope you'll enjoy the future updates as well. ^_^
You mean in the coming months? Yes, probably. There is a lot to do, but more and more stuff should get wrapped up soon-ish, especially things that aren't too far off from completion.
So far I'm enjoying the game a lot, but I ran into the issue where if you accidentally click too fast while talking to the first town's bar groper, it auto selects beat up and than the entire line is shut down without anyway to undo it as far as I can tell. I hadn't saved for half an hour before that and it single handedly made me close out of the game for the day. If there's going to be an option to permanently remove content from the game, please make it not the default dialog choice. And if that doesn't permanently remove the content form the game, maybe give a hint on how to renew that line in subsequent dialog.
I can add a script so that there is a short period of time when the choices can't be picked, so it ignores any button pressed as the choice window is opening (I'll give it half a second, should be plenty, without slowing things down too much). Of course, you could still end up picking the wrong choice if you are mashing or if you are distracted, but I think it's better than the alternatives (no matter what's the default choice, some people could be annoyed, if they pressed it by accident, and it's not feasible to add options everywhere to have a second chance).
I wish RPG maker had a "go back" option in dialog like Renpy does, but the brief window should help a bit. Usually it's because when seeing a scene that's a permutation, or copy of, of a previous one, I tend to skim a bit and don't always remember exactly which dialog comes before the prompt. So hopefully a second delay will let me see the option pop up.
Upon revisiting the dialog, I think one other thing that might help is having the input be after the guy says his dialog instead of after the PC says "... ... ..." as the longer dialog window I think helps prevent accidentally hitting the input. Usually the first thing I do when I see a dialog window is hit enter to see the entire dialog right away. But when the dialog is so short, sometimes it all shows up before I hit enter and the enter becomes an input instead.
If it's for repeating scenes, you can safely (and quickly) skip text by holding down the "W" key (this works for unread text as well, so be careful or you might miss important stuff). Since the "W" key doesn't select choices, you can hold it down without fear of picking an option, at least. I think the "delayed input" I added for the choices should be plenty, but we'll see when you get to try it yourself. :)
Superb work. The exploration in this game is HUGE. And the porn, if I can loosely use that word, is very subtle if you so choose. A grand adventure. Nicely written - all of it.
I would like to add that if you search for, "Caliross" directly in itch.io search, nothing comes up. Could be a keyword missing.
Thanks! Always great to hear from people who like the game! ^_^ Do you mean I should have the keyword "Caliross" in the project's tags? I figured searching for the name would make it show up regardless.
Yes, MDGP. I mean exactly that. If you go to "http://itch.io" and type out "caliross" in the search you get back:
No results found
If you type instead in the search, "adult" you get back a bunch of games that have nothing to do with "adult" games.
I have previously played and won another erotic RPG (as far as I could as the game is incomplete), "EraHunter."
I was playing "Under Control" which was nice but the difficulty in combat skyrocketed right near the end and even with the whole continent open, it does not seem like I will be able to fight the monsters on the final level in any capacity.
I started playing, "Lust Doll." a bit last night. It is a post-apocalyptic game with very high level of detail to define your character and the most basic of icons for navigation. Deep text and character development. Almost too much porn though. EraHunter and yours so far are the best I have found.
There is Goblin Layer which I have not yet looked at.
Your game also reminds me a bit of "Azure Dreams" for the PS1, a game that promises adventure as well as romance with a few women to choose from.
1. The girl that says she hates you all the time and is very wealthy. 2. A girl that is very sick, homebound, and can barely walk. 3. Your childhood sweetheart. 4. The woman running the items shop. Brash but friendly. 5. The woman running the fortune telling shop. Mysterious and sexy.
Likely there are others.
Having played your game though now for 10-hours now I thought I would track down where it originally came from. And I did. "itch.io"
I previously found your game on the site, "http://fap-nation.com" and it hosts a great number of other porn games. The keyword I used to find yours was "RPGM" which of course means RPG Maker, my favorite type of game style to play in any capacity, porn, humor, horror, and adventure.
Mmmh, the game does show up for me if I search the name, so I'll have to ask others to try it out. Does itch.io have age authentication? Could that be why they don't show you adult games? When I am logged out, I can't find Caliross, so maybe there is something there. As for typing "adult", you have to use tags search for that (if you search "adult", a clickable "adult" button should appear near the top left, and that should take you to the games tagged as such).
In theory, I started out on a few forums and on Patreon for Caliross (my older games were/are completely freeware, instead), but yeah, I didn't submit my own game to fap-nation (good that it was a way for you to find the game, however!). I wonder if I should add a link to the Patreon in the game itself, just to let more people know.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, and for letting me know about the search. I'll have to ask around, and see if others can't see the game if they search for it as well.
In your settings, do you have NSFW content allowed? Maybe that's what kept my game from showing when you search for it (at least, that's how it worked for one of my patrons when he checked it out).
Ah ! That was it. I brought up my settings and found:
Show content marked as adult in search & browse
I checkmarked it, clicked SAVE, then did a search for "Caliross" again.
This time it came up.
So, yeah from other sites you are going to have to tell your users to:
1. Create an account on itch.io. 2. Click on the far upper right triangle that is to the right of their avatar and alias. 3. Select Settings. 4. Scroll to find, "Show content marked as adult in search & browse." 5. Checkmark that. 6. Select SAVE. 7. Then if they search for it, it will come up.
=IF= you want to use the search feature of itch.io, that is.
It will then bring up a prompt asking if you are 18 or older. Saying yes your link will come straight up, no need for creating an account, settings, or checkmark.
As a writer in Writer's Cafe, I have a little over 53,000 readers. But for the book chapters marked ADULT, I barely have 20-readers to each of those. So, yes, tagging your work as adult will definitely decrease the number of people who can access it or search for it in itch.io.
What you might do is compromise. Upload a safe-for-work and incredibly limited demo of your game, "Caliross" and do not mark it as adult so anyone can find it. Have in the game (when the demo is won) a link to the "final" version of it also asking at the end of the game demo if they are 18 or over.
I did this in some of my book chapters. I would post 2-chapters consecutively with the same chapter number and one would be safe-for-work and the other would not be, and my readers could choose which one to read.
Glad this was solved. It was harder for me to realize, because since I make Caliross, itch.io automatically changes my setting to be able to see adult stuff (which makes sense). Generally, I link my page directly, so for people coming from my own links, it should be fine.
I am not sure if I want to make a SFW demo, but I certainly appreciate the suggestion. :)
I was really looking forward to this update and have been enjoying it so far. I did have a couple of questions though. After visiting the slums church, I was told to go to a library to research a ritual but no quest indicator popped up. After doing that, I have obtained the info that the ritual for the spider lady only works on a full moon and have attempted to put it to use in the slums church but nothing happens on a full moon. Am I doing something incorrectly? Does it require me to gain access to the royal library? If so, how would I go about it?
You must research about the spider lady in the royal library to progress with that path. To gain access to the library, you must be a noble, and you can ask about it to the emperor when you visit the castle (so, once you go back after you first get nominated as a noble). To convince the emperor, you can either be part of his harem, have a good relationship with him, or have completed the quest related to the smuggled mana crystals.
The ritual that can only happen during the full moon is a different one, so you probably got confused.
I hope to add another "advanced" library soon, so people will be able to complete this quest without having to "suck it up" to the emperor.
Yep, that's another one that would be qualified for the research, but I need to add the upper floors and handle the mini-quest to gain access to those (you'd need to find a book that isn't in the library yet as a "gift" to be allowed to go further upstairs).
I think it would be pretty cool if you could hire the clown in tarkas resedential district for the party hard quest the man in that area even says that the clown could easily land a job with a noble
I still want to add it, but I'll have to see how much time I have left after I finish work on what's already in the game and the important stuff that should be added no matter what. The academy is optional, but I like the idea so I am not sure myself.
Yeah there's also the matter of making sense like why would someone wanting to become a great historian take a huge career detour through a magic academy I think if you ever do add the academy you should make an incentive like a very exclusive library or something like that
I am sure there would be enough benefits, and if joining the guilds is cool, then learning more about magic and having professors you can consult on various matters should also be interesting for our heroine. There is a library in the map already, so it would make sense to use it too, but I wonder what could be the "specialty", so to speak.
The game uses the RTP (which is the basic set of RPG Maker assets), and you need to install it separately. Basically, it makes future downloads smaller, since part of the assets are already on your PC (and if any other game does the same, you also have smaller download and installation size for those).
I was wondering to if you get lea as a slave, there would be a section where you could free her, but not as a lover. I mean, I feel bad for someone like her being a slave, but I don't want to be her a sexual lover. Will you be planning to add something like that, or do you feel like that doesn't need anything else?
I did think about it, but I am not sure how to handle it. When would the option become available? Should she leave afterward or stay, and if she stays, should I have alternative versions of the scenes you can get while she is a slave? It can get messy, so I don't want to touch things without a plan (and I want to avoid solutions which require a lot of effort, since I am not adding much, in practice).
hey there i am trying to download 0.988 but the installer just never opens i tried to open an older installer and it works just fine so I am not sure what is going on
Hey mdqp, im trying to download the game and it does download but halfway through it says not responding and after some time it stops. It might be an issue from my side but could you check if theres anything wrong with the download link?
Thanks but i think its fine i tried to do the new stuff in the game and they were going well. So ig my laptop is getting an aneurysm. Anyways thanks for the quick reply an di cant wait for the next update
This wasn't my first game, although it's the first one with RPG Maker and on itch.io
Caliross is my 4th game, the 3 previous ones were adventure games made with a text(+images)-adventure engine (called RAGS). My last game was an adventure/RPG hybrid, but I wanted to have real-time exploration for my next game, which is why I moved to RPG Maker (I also thought it would be better at attracting an audience compared to RAGS). Getting people to like your game isn't easy, and it's ALSO a matter of luck, not just talent (of course with no talent, it's going to be harder).
If you want my humble advice, here is a list of things to focus on, to make your own first game:
1) Make sure to start small: your first game should be as short as you can while still making it fun. This is for a number of reasons. If you are new, you'll need experience with how to think about making games, and you need to familiarize yourself with the engine and tools you are going to use through practice. You can't do that if you are busy researching, prototyping and testing new things all the time, plus you'll have a harder time making these things efficiently, which will further slow you down. The larger a game is, the more complicated it will get.
2) I'd recommend starting this as a hobby: Asking for money if your game doesn't offer enough can be counter-productive, and make it hard to gain a following. If you can't make money with it, you also can't devote too much time and budget into it, so you must learn to accept the limitations that come with that, rather than try force your way through.
3) Try to find as many forums/websites which could fit the bill for the type of game you want to make, and post at least semi-regularly about updates. This is useful for feedback, to find more players, "grow an audience" and it's also an easier time for you when you'll need to find testers which leads me to...
4) Even if you might be unable to right away, desperately try to find people who can test your games and give you feedback. The general public is nice if you can gain a following, but you still want someone to help with the brunt of the bugs and with the starting feedback. Try to get people with similar interests (if you use your demo to attract them, this should be a natural consequence, but if you notice too much friction it's also fine to politely point it out, and look for someone who isn't trying to transform your game into something else).
5) Be shameless about your inspirations (and do mention them if you think they shaped the game considerably). Getting stuck on trying to do something "unique" "new" or "original" is one of the most damaging things you can do, while basing your game on games you like gives you a template you can use to still make something different, if not entirely unique. There will always be the next game to get an innovative idea done, and you'll be more confident with the tools afterward, so it's less of a daring proposition.
6) Never aim for perfect. If something works as intended, you can mull over it while you work on something else. In a small game, there is less need for re-using code and the like, so jury-rigging some stuff is perfectly fine. Also, don't sweat deadlines too much, but try to work consistently on the project, instead. Be willing to switch to other aspects of the game, if you are stuck in the short term (and don't be afraid to cut things out if you hate how they turned out or they are taking way too much time to get done).
7) Make sure the first demo is well-polished (for the users, it's fine if the code is messy, if it works with no bugs). First impressions are important, and this is doubly true for niche games. There is a LOT of stuff out there, it's easy to get lost. You can have a bad release every now and then, but fixing bugs is important, and having as little as you can of them when a release is out is even better.
There is more, but this is what I'd think off the top of my head.
Glad it was helpful. If you need some tips don't be afraid to ask around and of course don't be afraid to try things out on your own as well.
I wasn't sure if you wanted to make it a job or not, since you asked about how to attract an audience. Having no desire to turn this into a job should make things easier, as there isn't as much pressure, and as long as you don't make something super niche, you should be able to get people to play your game, if it's nice. Take your time to figure out what you like the most about working on the game as well, and plan accordingly (if you like both writing and coding/scripting, that's great, but you might want to focus more or less on writing or mechanics depending on your preferences).
If you need testers or help in general (like a writer or a coder), make sure to have the demo ready first, as it's the only way to show your vision and that you are committed to it. It's hard for people to jump in when they can't get a good idea about the game, although a vague pitch probably makes it easier to make money by selling everyone their dream game before it's even started (which is why a lot of crowdfunded projects crash and burn, or sometimes even scam people).
Anyway, enough of my blabbering. Good luck with your game! ^_^
If you get the "masochist trait", you can talk to her, and unlock her scenes. The fastest way to unlock the trait is to go to the hypnotist at the circus. :)
I think she has more or less all the scenes I'd want for her. I can't exclude something extra if I release a 1.1 version, but it doesn't seem very likely at this point, since there is already so much to complete.
sorry for the late reply the game it self is fine no crashing or anything like that its just when i go to save the game progress it shows that it does save but it does not save the progress that was made so every time i play it i half to start a new. so at first i thought it was a bug or a glitch or just a miss read on the application it self so i tried everything like uninstall and reinstall and so forth but to that end no luck
Mmmh, could it be the folder is set to "read only" for some reason? You should be able to save, load and copy/paste the savefiles from one version to the next without any issues (that's how most players do it).
Other than making sure the folder isn't set to "read only", I'd check where you installed the game (is it an important folder for the operating system, or something?) the antivirus (is it blocking/deleting the save files?) and perhaps try running the game as an administrator. The game works on basically any system I heard of, and RPG Maker is a fairly stable product, so it's likely some unexpected interaction on your side.
Another thing I would try if you have access to another PC is to check if the same problem appears on that one as well.
Generally speaking, I don't like the idea of raising inhibitions again after they get lowered. It feels a bit weird to, say, work at a brothel and then later on being unable to because your inhibitions rose again (or worse, getting mixed reactions from the protagonist where working at the brothel is unlocked, but she is too shy to do something far less extreme elsewhere).
Still, I might add some rare exceptions to this rule, since some players seem to really want it. It's also worth mentioning that if you don't mind "cheating", you can set your inhibitions already in the travel sphere.

I have noticed a bug where if I unplug my laptop while I'm playing the game, it freezes and I have to restart.
I tend to play with the sound off, so I'll have to try that at some point.
If you ever get a chance, try other RPG Maker VX Ace games as well, just to make sure it's related to the engine, as I suspect.
Hi man, I just wanted to say I loved your game so much and it has a lot of potentials, thanks for the hard work and if you don't mind I have some suggestions, like : why don't you use unity engine it's awesome for the 2D RPG games, besides you can inspire new techniques from games like "Banner of the Maid", "Rise Eterna" .. etc, I know I'm talking in greedy way but man! you made a master piece, thanks a million time
Hi! Nice to hear you like the game. ^_^
About Clothes:
1) That would be great to have a clothing store with several types of outfits (2-5 types).
Just for example:
"Uni" and "Third Crisis" (games right here on itch.io) , have different outfits, but some cutscenes have default outfit anyway.
Glad you like it. ^_^
There are some special outfits for certain quests/jobs/scenes, but for regular play, you only have your default outfit.
>>you only have your default outfit
It's so sad! :<
how do you get the merchant pass and where is the location of the passenger ship ?
Ah... I forgot to interact with the statue to get the sapient transformation. So sorry for the confusion. You're making an awesome game btw!
It's all good! ^_^ Honestly, I wonder if I should have forced people to stay in the final room for each temple until they found everything, specifically to avoid these situations, (but it feels a bit heavy-handed, so I don't like it whenever I do it).
Glad you are enjoying the game! ^_^
I downloaded the game but when it launches I cant interact with the game. If someone could help that would be great
If you mean that the game crashes right away, you might be missing the RTP:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/degica-downloads/RPGVXAce_RTP.zip
If you mean something else, you'll have to be more specific.
The game launches but the screen can not be interacted with
So the music plays, the screen comes up, the menu options comes up and the screen also switches between the two different backgrounds, but when you press, say, enter or the arrow keys, you don't get any response, is that right?
yes that is correct
You might also want to check this thread: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/normal-keyboard-inputs-not-work...
I cant start the game. It keeps saying that it can't find VL gothic font.
This game requires you to also have the RPG Maker RTP installed, here is the link:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/degica-downloads/RPGVXAce_RTP.zip
hello a quick question, does the game have or will it ever have scenes with monsters? you know goblin orcs and etc .
How do you get the pocket dimension spell?
Cast Detect Magic in your bedroom, and it should show something is up with your mirror. Enter, use Push on the button so you can get into the room before the door closes, then you'll get the book for it.
Bedroom in Tarkas, that is.
What does the charm you get from the outcasts do? Does it force anything on you and can you take it off
You can't take it off (it doesn't take an equipment slot, but it stays in your inventory permanently). It unlocks a series of mind control scenes around the game. You can't avoid the scenes by any means other than avoiding the NPCs themselves who have them (you can't really know beforehand who can trigger these scenes).
If you don't like being mind controlled, definitely avoid the charm.
Thank you! I'll be avoiding that charm :)
How long does it usually take to for the letter to get in to the manor to arrive? Seems to be taking forever, does something need to happen before it arrives?
You'll need to give me some more details here. What's the letter that is supposed to arrive? What's the context?
i think they're talking about the nobility letter, which im fairly certain is 3 days
The letter that the servant says she will send when the manor is ready to live in. She won't let me enter the manor.
Oh, I see! You must advance to the next chapter for the manor to be ready. It's not a matter of time spent, in that case.
nothing on jin? :'(
I should sneak in something for him and Lea this month, I think (so they should show up in version 0.993). Hang in there! XD
Hi there, the game is very interesting, yet I'm currently caught into a bug rather unpleasant :
After finishing the 3rd temple, I went back through the main door, then went out in the water as a fish.
Glad you find the game interesting. :)
Let's see... I have no plans currently for a permanent transformation into a slime girl, but I'd like to add slime pregnancies at some point.
Just out of curiosity will this have a Steam release date sometime in the future?
Does this have nudity
Yes, it's an adult game. Not all the scenes have art, but there are hundreds of scenes which do have it.
I'm sorry to bother you but I'm trying to do the spider-lady quest.
How do I find a library to research this?
Currently, the only library which works for the quest is the royal library, so you must become a noble and then ask the emperor about gaining access to it. He gives you access if you meet some requirements (either if you are part of his harem, if you completed a specific quest for him before, or if your relationship with him is 5 or more).
I plan to add at least 1 more library in the future where such a research is possible, but for now that's the only one.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it!!
Just discovered a glitch where if you're staying at the Golden Leaf before starting the cowgirl path, not only does the dream that warns you against locking yourself into it not trigger, but neither do you automatically go to the farm every morning once you are locked it.
Thanks for letting me know. :)
Cool, thanks for the quick response. Love this game, hopefully it gets more fun hypno content in the coming patches.
do you plan to continue jin path
Ha-ha, I wish I had completed the game by now, but hey, I added more content so it's all good. XD
I did add some content for the hypnotist over time, but I wouldn't know exactly how much it was since you last played.
Glad you are enjoying yourself, and yes, do look forward to my future games as well. ^_^
any chance for a wrap up in the near future on the Jin storyline?
Good to know you are having fun with the game. :)
This script will be introduced in version 0.991.
Do you mean I should have the keyword "Caliross" in the project's tags? I figured searching for the name would make it show up regardless.
Do other adult games show up in the search?
Maybe that's what kept my game from showing when you search for it (at least, that's how it worked for one of my patrons when he checked it out).
mdgp:
Ah ! That was it. I brought up my settings and found:
I checkmarked it, clicked SAVE, then did a search for "Caliross" again.
This time it came up.
So, yeah from other sites you are going to have to tell your users to:
1. Create an account on itch.io.
2. Click on the far upper right triangle that is to the right of their avatar and alias.
3. Select Settings.
4. Scroll to find, "Show content marked as adult in search & browse."
5. Checkmark that.
6. Select SAVE.
7. Then if they search for it, it will come up.
=IF= you want to use the search feature of itch.io, that is.
If you just want to give them your URL direct:
https://mdqp.itch.io/calirosshttps://mdqp.itch.io/caliross
P.S.
It's MDQP, not MDGP. ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
I hope to add another "advanced" library soon, so people will be able to complete this quest without having to "suck it up" to the emperor.
the one in zanark?
Yep, that's another one that would be qualified for the research, but I need to add the upper floors and handle the mini-quest to gain access to those (you'd need to find a book that isn't in the library yet as a "gift" to be allowed to go further upstairs).
I think it would be pretty cool if you could hire the clown in tarkas resedential district for the party hard quest the man in that area even says that the clown could easily land a job with a noble
I don't think I want him at the party, but perhaps I could do something more with the character. We'll see if an opportunity comes up.
good game
Thanks! ^_^
Hey, I just wanted to ask if the magic academy will be added in the future or if that's just a scrapped idea
So, I'm having an issue with starting up the game
IDK what it means or how to fix it
It's saying "RPGVXAce RTP is required to run this game"
Here it is:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/degica-downloads/RPGVXAce_RTP.zip
The game uses the RTP (which is the basic set of RPG Maker assets), and you need to install it separately. Basically, it makes future downloads smaller, since part of the assets are already on your PC (and if any other game does the same, you also have smaller download and installation size for those).
Hey I hate to pester, but Itry to open it and it says cannot find vl gothic font, and doesn't open, what should I do?
I should add, this used to be my favorite nsfw game but it stopped working over a year ago and never worked again.
Did you try re-installing the RTP?
https://s3.amazonaws.com/degica-downloads/RPGVXAce_RTP.zip
It fixed it! Thank you so much
I was wondering to if you get lea as a slave, there would be a section where you could free her, but not as a lover.
It can get messy, so I don't want to touch things without a plan (and I want to avoid solutions which require a lot of effort, since I am not adding much, in practice).
hey there i am trying to download 0.988 but the installer just never opens i tried to open an older installer and it works just fine so I am not sure what is going on
nevermind I fixed it I am gonna be honest IDK what I did
but I right-clicked on the file -> troubleshoot compatibility -> "try recommended settings" and that did the trick
Good thing you solved it on your own. :)
First time hearing a compatibility issue about the game so far, I'll have to ask around if others are having the some problem.
Hey mdqp, im trying to download the game and it does download but halfway through it says not responding and after some time it stops. It might be an issue from my side but could you check if theres anything wrong with the download link?
Mmh, the download seems to complete just fine for me, but you can try this MEGA link, instead:

Thanks but i think its fine i tried to do the new stuff in the game and they were going well. So ig my laptop is getting an aneurysm. Anyways thanks for the quick reply an di cant wait for the next update
ok so I am sorry this is off topic but I don't know where else to ask you this
is this the first game you posted?
if so how did you get a decently sized audience on your first game?
I am asking because I wanna create RPG maker games myself but I am worried that nobody would play them
This wasn't my first game, although it's the first one with RPG Maker and on itch.io
There is more, but this is what I'd think off the top of my head.
thank you, SM this is some really good advice and I will take it to heart
also I never really wanted to make games as a job it was always just gonna be a hobby but it is nice to at least share your hoppy with other people
Glad it was helpful.
May I ask if there's a way to talk to the red head in the First Oasis Bar in Rahib?
If you get the "masochist trait", you can talk to her, and unlock her scenes. The fastest way to unlock the trait is to go to the hypnotist at the circus. :)
Thank you very much
^_^
As the game reaches 1.0... will there be more Catherine scenes? :D
I think she has more or less all the scenes I'd want for her. I can't exclude something extra if I release a 1.1 version, but it doesn't seem very likely at this point, since there is already so much to complete.
Unfortunate to hear but understandable. Still having fun!
i hope the saving is fixed because everytime i play i half to start a new game
I never hear people complain about this, so I didn't know it was an issue. What seems to be the problem, usually?
sorry for the late reply the game it self is fine no crashing or anything like that its just when i go to save the game progress it shows that it does save but it does not save the progress that was made so every time i play it i half to start a new. so at first i thought it was a bug or a glitch or just a miss read on the application it self so i tried everything like uninstall and reinstall and so forth but to that end no luck
Mmmh, could it be the folder is set to "read only" for some reason? You should be able to save, load and copy/paste the savefiles from one version to the next without any issues (that's how most players do it).
I could try that but idk if it will work and by chance would you know what else to do ?
Other than making sure the folder isn't set to "read only", I'd check where you installed the game (is it an important folder for the operating system, or something?) the antivirus (is it blocking/deleting the save files?) and perhaps try running the game as an administrator. The game works on basically any system I heard of, and RPG Maker is a fairly stable product, so it's likely some unexpected interaction on your side.
Another thing I would try if you have access to another PC is to check if the same problem appears on that one as well.
Will there be a way to increase your inhibitions stat to avoid certain events in the future?
Generally speaking, I don't like the idea of raising inhibitions again after they get lowered. It feels a bit weird to, say, work at a brothel and then later on being unable to because your inhibitions rose again (or worse, getting mixed reactions from the protagonist where working at the brothel is unlocked, but she is too shy to do something far less extreme elsewhere).
Still, I might add some rare exceptions to this rule, since some players seem to really want it. It's also worth mentioning that if you don't mind "cheating", you can set your inhibitions already in the travel sphere.
Can't wait for the kairos storyline to be finished
