And I am sorry for giving you incorrect information last time. I checked to make sure, and the questlog tells you what you should do before trying to enter the sewers: you must go to a library to do a research about the catacombs first. For some reason, I forgot about that (I didn't even mention it in the walkthrough, so I'll fix that as soon as possible).
On the plus side, you should be able to finish the quest without issues, now.

2) No way to remove traits other than using the debug tool (if you use the "travel sphere" among the key items, and interact with the green sphere, you can toggle traits). Note that since the game isn't built with the idea of traits being removable, if you started a path that required a trait, future scenes in that path might still read as if you have the trait.
As for hiding text, do you mean hide the dialogue box? If so, pressing CTRL toggles the visibility.
I tried following the walkthrough to retrieve the chief’s war-axe from the monster’s nest, but the worms always seemed to notice me. Any tips on how I can complete this task?

Oh, you are right: that one dialogue just checks if you have Marintas's charm but it should check if you interacted with her while wearing it, instead. Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks! Actually the last year or so has been awful (got sick almost every month one way or another), otherwise progress might have been faster still. Even this month has been a nightmare in that sense.
Cool to see that this is still being worked on. I've been holding off on finishing it for a while, because I'm waiting for it to be complete before I reach a dead end. :)
The only real criticism I have is that it's basically impossible to keep Erica's free will and brain intact without a guide. A lot of times, you get thrown into fun fetishy mind control content without any reasonable way to know it's about to happen. You decide to take up what looks like a simple farmhand job? Congrats, you're a cow now. You're doing a quest, and do the sensible thing of reporting to the local authority figure? Surprise, she's secretly been brainwashed by the bad guys and now she's brainwashed you (unlike many such instances, you don't get an option to resist with high enough willpower). You talk to the lonely-looking person in the bar? Enjoy the vampire route!
At least in most cases, it's thematic (it's not like the guys drugging and kidnapping girls are going to give you the chance to consent). There's also some exceptions where you're given ample opportunity to reverse course before the point of no return, like the Queen of Hearts turning you into a bimbo, which I like. Luckily, my compulsive saving makes this not too much of an issue, but I could see it annoying some people.
Anyways, when I went to type the above, itch.io popped up with the draft I had from last time. I was trying to report a bug, but couldn't post it because for some reason itch.io wouldn't let me attach the screenshots. You may have already fixed this by now, but just in case, here's what I was going to say more than half a year ago...
The schedule system sometimes breaks cutscenes. For example, I was doing the quest to investigate the Zanti Farm, and decided to help the farmer investigate the vandalism in his barn. The time cut to night. However, because I was scheduled to do a shift at the Queen of Hearts at night, it instead teleported me there, but it's still playing out the dialogue of the cutscene...
The main quest is complete, so if you want to, you can jump in whenever you like. Also, saves are retro compatible 99.9% of the time, so you generally won't miss anything by starting to play now (the only exception being if I add new content to old paths, which seems unlikely at this point).
On the plus side, the farm and the vampire don't instantly lock you in their respective paths, you need to go there for a while before the effects on Erica materialize (that's my way of giving a buffer to the players, as you noticed). Yeah, there is a limit to what makes sense and constantly asking players their input is also bad for the flow of the scenes, so it's a balancing act. You can however play the entire game without seeing a single sex scene, if I remember correctly, so I hope that's good enough in the end.
Thanks for the bug report! This actually never came up before, believe it or not. Since the schedule was introduced late into the game, it's likely that there are still issues out there. If you know of more scenes that do this, tell me about each one individually. Sadly, because of how the game's logic works, there isn't an easy way to find and replace all the bugged ones, so I'll have to do so manually whenever I hear about one.
Okej, wow, finished it more quickly than I expected. Chapters 5 and 6 definitely felt shorter than the ones before them.
Hrrm. Overall, I'd say probably a solid 4/5. It's sort of an inversion of The Last Sovereign, where I'm very invested in the overarching plot to the point where I found myself getting annoyed at the sex scenes ("blah blah blah tits blah blah blah pussy, tell me how the economy is doing!") - here, there are many great scenes, but they don't come together particularly well as a story. The whole is less than the sum of its parts. Still a fun experience for me, but I'd only be able to recommend it for others if they had the same kinks.
Also, it's sometimes very difficult to find things without the guide.
Btw, question - I never tried altering my body because I liked Erica the way she started, does stuff like tattoos, body piercing, and changes to butt/breast size show up in the CGs?
(btw, for any bystanders reading this, spoilers below)
Also, I kinda want to see the "bad" ending where I side with Hanatora, but I dunno if I want to put in the effort to re-find all those statues from before (I specifically avoided them and reloaded upon reading their text because they sounded sinister)... I guess the deciding question is, does she have an actual ending, or is it just a nonstandard game over, like becoming a tentacle mommy or fornicating with the men in the cursed/blessed village too many times?
Finally, minor quibble - I was told that siding with the Merchant Guild regarding the expansion of Golden Leaf would grant access to unique items, but I never saw these. Their only operation in the area seemed to be a store selling consumables.
Yeah, chapter 5 and 6 are shorter (I might try to expand chapter 5 a bit with some short quests, but there aren't going to be many big changes).
I am glad you liked the story. The scenes are kind of their own thing, as you noticed. There are various reasons for that, but probably the biggest one is simply that this was my first open(-ish) world game, and I tried to give it variety and make as much of it accessible from the get go, so it ended up being a patchwork of various ideas.
The alterations do not show up in the CGs, only in the "default" busts that I use here and there (it wasn't part of the original budget, and afterward it would have been too expensive and awkward to try and "patch it in").
Getting all the statues doesn't lock you into a bad end (although it makes one available). You get a different branch gameplay-wise in the demon world, so if you are interested in a slightly different castle section or if you want to see Erica jill-off to her obedience to the demons, you can go for it. It's not a major ending, however (as you noted, it's more similar to a nonstandard game-over).
Smoke screens and Yellowpetals are unique to the new store, if I remember correctly. Did you want something different available? If it's not a huge overhaul, you can give me your suggestions, and maybe I'll take a second look at the stores, the items available and/or the interactions you have with each one.
The open world aspect is a good thing in some regards but a weakness in others. You pretty much have to have a guide to know who to talk to if you don't want to miss things, or else just make a point of regularly talking to every NPC in the world just in case they have something new (a task made even more tedious by the fact that in this game, some things are different based on time of day). It's difficult to do well, I don't think I've seen anyone pull it off perfectly.
The story itself is alright, but feels a bit short once you account for the fact that most of the game is spent on things entirely unrelated to the main plot. It would also have been nice if the sex scenes tied into it somehow, ie, if you brought your partner(s) with you on expeditions to temples or supported your quest in some way (or, alternatively, indirectly undermined your quest, which is what I expected from, say, the Queen of Hearts or the Zanti), but that would get very difficult with the number of potential partners the game has. Many scenes are great individually, but the characters don't get developed - some characters seem to exist basically solely for their sex scenes. It would have been nice to see the characters interact with each other more (ie, you'd think people would notice Sonya bimbofying you, and that some people would have something to say about it - an amusing example I just thought of is a hypothetical arms race between Sonya and Professor Selina as the latter continually tries to re-brain you because she wants you to do well in her class).
That reminds me, some lore thoughts I had on the Queen of Hearts, now that I've finished their content after the main quest... how does their business model work? We're explicitly NOT granting men release there, so why are they spending all their money there and not just going to the brothel, which is much cheaper? We were able to convince that one green-haired woman to join us, but given how well Sonya pays her workers (significantly more than "normal" jobs like the bakery, at least), we can't do that with EVERYONE's wives. And what do we do when we get too old for most people to find attractive (I'm assuming that eternal youth magic either doesn't exist or is economically inviable, since old people exist in this world)? Sonya presumably makes enough money to retire comfortably, but what about her bunnies? Does she care enough about them to make sure they're alright after they're no longer fit to hop for her? I never could get a good read on Sonya, if she's like Hanatora and just wants to use Erica or if she genuinely thinks that her bunnies are happier being dumb (which is probably true, based on Erica's reaction to her). (Some dialogue implies the former, but if she's really only in it for the money, there's surely a better way to exploit a famous countess than just having her work as a waitress/stripper, right?)
Ah, yeah, so the consumables were the unique items. I thought they meant unique GEAR or magical artifacts or somesuch. I definitely wouldn't have had just some extra consumables be a point in favor of the Merchant Guild had I known, though Kira's panties might have still been enough of a winning argument anyways.
The game isn't perfect, that's for sure. There could have been ways to make the open world less painful, but it also makes it feel more "narrow". For example, you could get quests only from guilds or other specific NPCs, meaning that you'd only have to check those for new quests, and/or use more the balloon to indicate the availability of new content. I don't like that approach, though, since you are just moving from marker to marker at that point. The best approach would have probably been to not use a chapter system, so that everything is available when you enter an area (barring quest chains, but those would usually give you guidance on where to go for the next part), so you don't have to search the same places every chapter, and/or open up the world a bit more gradually as well as making travel a bit more involved, so that you work your way up to the full open world. There are trade-offs no matter what, though.
While I do have some amount of interactivity between the factions you are a part of and some quests, that can quickly spiral out of control if you have characters interacting consistently. I would have had to cut the number of characters, most likely.
Sonya just likes to be the queen of her little reign, that's why she doesn't go far with manipulating a noblewoman. She just sees Erica as another one of her girls (even if Erica is definitely one of her favourites). The QoH has gambling, sexy bunnies, strippers and a VIP area (which is usually very expensive and exclusive, although you gain entrance in different ways), these are all activities which make a ton of money, and she also has all sorts of special deals for rich customers. Also, don't forget she can effectively bamboozle everyone that comes in with her powers, to an extent, while the brothel is just a "regular" brothel, at the end of the day.
Kira's panties are the top 1 unique item in the game. XD
Anyway, that's more or less my thought process behind the game as far as these elements go.
You should be able to keep your saves for basically every release. In the rare occasion that I change something big and saves become incompatible, I mention it in the changelog (but it's really unlikely for that to happen this late into development). If I do change some old content, you might be unable to see what I added (since a lot of the scenes/events aren't repeatable), but that's about it.
i cant figure out how to escape during a certain event in the "catching the mastermind" quest :(( anything i think of doesnt work he just shows up and game over's me anyway, and this quest isnt in the walkthrough yet hhh i am in need of assistance _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_
Futanaris are in the game, but it's a fairly minor part. There is quite a lot of "regular" lesbian content, although I didn't keep an exact count so I am not sure if there is more straight or lesbian content (I think most characters with multiple scenes are girls, though).
Trying to launch the game on JoiPlay on my phone and I keep getting this error:
script 'Global Setting Addon' line 257: Errno::EINVAL occured
Invalid argument - MyProject\
Tried with both the exe version and the 7z version and both have the same issue. I searched a fair amount but couldn't find any solutions, anyone have any idea what the problem is?
Sadly, I don't really know about how JoiPlay works. Do you have the "MyProject" folder inside the Caliross folder? Also, from what I read about JoiPlay, you should install the game on the internal storage, and not the SD to avoid issues, have you tried that?
Let's see: I assume you have learned the pocket dimension spell from the book already. If that's the case, talking to her should bring up the option to ask "Do you want to live with me?". After that, you should go to your house in Tarkas. In your uncle's study there should be the pocket dimension book on the desk. From there, you can make a room for her (if you have the money). You should get a cutscene after that, and she moves in, if I remember correctly.
Have you tried the F5 and F6 keys? Those are also used to cycle through various options. Note that the game has a very low internal resolution, so it probably won't look too great in fullscreen.
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
I can't reproduce this in my testing. In your case, it seems as if the game doesn't change the variable properly ("fotogramma 0" doesn't exist, because it should always start with "fotogramma 1" and go up from there) but there are no obvious reasons as to why this should happen.
Is it completely random? Do you remember any of the events that triggered the bug (in case I want to dig a bit deeper)?
any event that did the black and white spiral hypnosis. I purposely tried some multiple times and every single one at some point would give me this exact error. it most frequently occured with the anxiety cure (not sure if thats what it is called but it is the event where mc tells the hypno guy she has a problem with, for example, her sexuality) hypnosis at the cirkus. The standard hypno training gave it to me less frequent. Though, I wonder if it could be related to my drives read speed suddenly being a lot slower than it used to be?
I can't imagine the drive slowing down being the issue, but then again I also never saw this bug nor did anyone report it before. If you have access to a different PC or a different drive, maybe you can try the game there, and let me know if the problem still appears.
So I copied it over to a different drive, and it has yet to happen after trying for like 15 times. I also noticed the swirl animation to be a lot smoother. So it probably is my drive. Though it is weird since I also have games like Doom Eternal on it which do not have any problems.
Glad to know it seems to be working fine now, at least. Since the animation basically just switches quickly between the various frames and then cycles back at the end, perhaps a faulty drive can't keep up with having to access a different file every frame, and that causes timing issues or something (perhaps because of how RPG Maker handles images). I am just speculating, however. This is an old engine, and it doesn't use the GPU much (if at all), making it harder to compare with modern games.
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
In the game's folder, you can find links to the walkthrough and H-scenes list, but both are incomplete at the moment (I didn't start writing them early on, and it's hard to catch up while updating the game now).
I can't immediately figure out why, but in certain areas the BGM audio is glitched. In Tarkas, Zanark and some other places the music plays fine for ~1 second, after which it becomes extremely jittery and sounds like some static is going on....
Edit: I just wrote this comment, restarted my pc, and it seems fixed. Im a silly goose sometimes. Leaving the comment incase someone else has this issue too
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
To get the cow-rustling quest, you must first progress through the cowgirl path (so, working at the Zanti farm) until they brainwash you and eventually give you the Zanti brand.
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
It's possible to run the game using joiplay (a program specifically meant to "translate" the game to android). Since this version of the engine can't export directly for mobile, that's the only option. If you do try to use joiplay, you'll also need to read on how to install the RTP on the phone, since this game requires it.
Sorry for the late reply. Itch.io seems to forget to send me notifcations once in a while, so now I am trying to catch up.
There are some "limited scenarios" where you get to pick clothes and get a scene directly after, but it's not something for the general gameplay (without planning for it before hand, it just doesn't work, as there are too many events which reset your appearance).
Exhibtionist is a trait you can gain in the game, and there are various related events already present, so hopefully you can have fun with those.
I've found a slight bug where if you wear the Red Dress, your character is constantly stuck in a walking animation until a cutscene or something similar happens and then they're stuck in a standing animation (ie, no animation at all) as you glide around the game.
Thanks for letting me know, and sorry for the late reply. Every now and then, itch.io seems to forget to send me notifcations, so I missed a bunch of messages. :(
I believe this has been since fixed, but do let me know if the problem is still present.
Hello, this game is one of the best that I played. And I have the question that I saw there is the character called "Nashara" and Erica can become her thrall in the game file. It seems like the vampire path. Is this part already existing in the game. If not, I hope to see this will not be the bad end and have more scenes with her. <3
Beatrix is the only vampire you can become a thrall of. Nashara is an old test character left from when I was experimenting with RPG Maker to learn the ins and outs of the engine (I was trying to figure out what limits are there for unique events and mechanics during a fight, hence why she could "enthrall" you). I think the really early versions of the game had a few more bits and pieces like that, but I mostly removed them over time.
I'm unable to get the game to work correctly. I've tried both download links and the mega link in the comments. My problem is that my character immediately moves left and remains stuck in that position. I'm also unable to move the selector left or up when changing the name or on the title screen.
Hey! I last played during 9.2 and had a blast! Today I was hoping to the newest version but everytime I run 0.9.5a.exe I get an error saying 'extract failed' exactly when it comes to 'Peace On The Water' any idea why this might be happening?
I tried downloading the version I uploaded here on itch, and it seems to work fine for me. Have you tried re-downloading the file? Perhaps there was just an issue when you were downloading it.
Ah, good to know the .7z file worked. I am not sure what might be causing the issue, since as I said that version worked just fine for me (I downloaded the file from here, just to make sure). Let me know if it happens in the future as well, but hopefully this is just some fringe accident.
I enjoy the development process, and it always makes me happy to know people enjoy the end result as well. As long as I can do it, I'll gladly talk with players of my games. :)
Were you using the itch app? Someone posted elsewhere that it might be an issue with the app, as downloading from the itch.io website worked just fine.
Hey ho, I just wanted to say that Caliross is one of the best games of the "female protagonist" rpg's of all time. I follow on patreon too and played so many different way's. But there is still so much untapped potential, like the nudist beach or another empty places. So I hope for so many Possibilities in the future. <3
It's always a pleasure to know people are enjoying my game! I have been trying to wrap things up for a while, so the nudist beach is unlikely to be added to the game, unfortunately. There is still a lot to work into the game, but I need to finish things at some point, and the game is already much bigger than my original plans.
If there is interest, I could always work on a "1.1" version later on, but for now I want to finish the game and start working full-time on my next project.
Hello, I want to say thank you for making such a a great game! I've been playing it for nearly a year and a half now and the updates have always been nice :D I'd also like to ask if you're going to put this game on steam eventually?
Hi! It's great to hear you are having fun. I am considering the option, but I am not sure yet. If the game gets on there, it's likely going to be once it's finished, and it will be free.

"Shadow from the past " quest the sewer gate does not open , do i have to do sth else ?
If you saw the cutscene with Cero Falk, the door should open. The entrance is in the same map as the Spider's Nest, do you have the right building?

Is there an updated version of the h-scenes document?
As I've seen there are new h paths on changelog but that document hasn't seemed to change?
I haven't updated the document in a while. Since it's not essential, it's the first thing to suffer whenever I am too busy, so it's been lagging behind.

Anyone know if Gabriel has more content after the tree scene? I can't seem to talk to him at all after that🤔
There is more content, actually, but a bug prevents it from showing up. What happens when you talk to him? No text at all?
I tried following the walkthrough to retrieve the chief’s war-axe from the monster’s nest, but the worms always seemed to notice me. Any tips on how I can complete this task?

You don't need to find the paintings in order, but you must find them all. The letters spell a word which indicates what to interact with next.
Found it, thanks a lot!
Someone has probably already asked this, but is it safe to transfer saves between old versions to new ones? Or will that break the game?

How do you unlock the final Outlasts quest?
Assuming you got to chapter 5 and completed their previous quest (the one in the sewers), sleeping once and going to the world map should be enough to trigger it.
can anyone tell me how to catch the familiar
I've found a minor inaccuracy: while pregnant Sonya calls Erica pet even though I only spoke to her once.
Oh, you are right: that one dialogue just checks if you have Marintas's charm but it should check if you interacted with her while wearing it, instead. Thanks for letting me know!
Thats really impressive that creator work on this game so often

There is a crank on one of the walls, and using it allows you to move the ladder left and right.
Am I doing something wrong, with 'the apprentice' I try to sneak in at night but get told to wait until nobody's around like if it was day?
Did you get a room at the inn? That's the only way to wait until everyone is asleep, if I remember correctly.
ah thank you, don't know how I forgot that was an option.
Cool to see that this is still being worked on. I've been holding off on finishing it for a while, because I'm waiting for it to be complete before I reach a dead end. :)

Hi!
I assume you are the same person as on F95, but just in case you aren't make sure you have the RTP installed, if you want to try this game on android.
when updating do i need to start a new save?
You mean, once you get inside the torture room? The easiest thing to do would be transforming into a mouse, if I remember correctly.
thats the first thing I tried! but once i sneak past him to the hallway he comes out after me all "i fooound youu" game over
You should lock the door after you exit, to slow him down. ;)
oohhhhh, duh! thanks so much i finally got through it hh
No problem. Keep having fun! ^_^
Is there a lot or little lesbian content in the game?
I'd say there is lot of it overall, although there is also a good amount of straight scenes.
Let me clarify - I'm talking about lesbians, not futanari
He's talking about lesbians too
Futanaris are in the game, but it's a fairly minor part.
Thank you so much for the help. Moving it to the internal storage fixed the issue.
Glad it worked! :)
JoiPlay Discord has fixes.
Hello, how can I transfer the dryad to my pocket space? Can you provide more details and steps? stuck
Oooh, thank you very much, I was finally able to do it
Glad this helped! ^_^
I have a problem. I can't do this in fullscreen mode. And in the old versions, the game was in full-screen mode
I have a problem. I can't do this in fullscreen mode. And in the old versions, the game was in full-screen mode
Have you tried the F5 and F6 keys? Those are also used to cycle through various options. Note that the game has a very low internal resolution, so it probably won't look too great in fullscreen.
ALT + ENTER is the key combination to maximize the window
I have tested many methods, but not one has worked. And this combination didn't work either
hey during the hypnosis events (anxieties, non specifically and randomly) I get this error
Unable to find file:
Graphics/Pictures/fotogramma 0 (30ms) (combine) (1).png
This is an old engine, and it doesn't use the GPU much (if at all), making it harder to compare with modern games.
is there a list of all the paths in the game right now?
Leaving the comment incase someone else has this issue too
Im kinda stupid and can't figure out how to beat ifri
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
There is a hint on the same floor, but basically you must do something counter-intuitive, and you must fight fire with fire.
<3
slightly confused about cow rustling quest, is there a point where you can start it? or is it just to follow the guide on it
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
To get the cow-rustling quest, you must first progress through the cowgirl path (so, working at the Zanti farm) until they brainwash you and eventually give you the Zanti brand.
Mobile?
Sorry for the late reply (itch.io forgot to send me notifications for quite a while, it seems).
It's possible to run the game using joiplay (a program specifically meant to "translate" the game to android). Since this version of the engine can't export directly for mobile, that's the only option. If you do try to use joiplay, you'll also need to read on how to install the RTP on the phone, since this game requires it.
Hello. The game is great, but I'd like to know. Will there be a change of clothes feature added, or even something about exhibitionism fetishes?
^Picture of constant walking animation.
LMK if you want the save file as well.
P.S.
Glad you are enjoying the game! :)
I'm unable to get the game to work correctly. I've tried both download links and the mega link in the comments. My problem is that my character immediately moves left and remains stuck in that position. I'm also unable to move the selector left or up when changing the name or on the title screen.
Mmmh, do you have any gamepads or tablets plugged in? Could you try leaving them unplugged, just to see if that's the problem? Also, here is a thread that gives a few more details on the source of the problem and a possible fix:
https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/player-keeps-moving-left.37434/
Thanks I managed to find the issue.
Glad things worked out. ^_^
Perhaps there was just an issue when you were downloading it.
did that and now its pausing on rgss3a. Tried it on two drives, one with plenty of space and one with limited space.
update: tried the 7zip file again and it worked!
Ah, good to know the .7z file worked. I am not sure what might be causing the issue, since as I said that version worked just fine for me (I downloaded the file from here, just to make sure). Let me know if it happens in the future as well, but hopefully this is just some fringe accident.
Will do! Think it was on my end mostly.
Also, just wanted to say thank you for making this game and interacting with its community!
I enjoy the development process, and it always makes me happy to know people enjoy the end result as well. As long as I can do it, I'll gladly talk with players of my games. :)
I think the issue is with the Itch app itself, I tried to download the file from the website instead and it worked fine.
Ah, thanks for letting us know. I didn't even realize itch had an app! XD XD XD
In case it's a problem with itch.io, try this mega link:
https://mega.nz/file/NJBhnC4D#X1YvfbL_CgxzRv0hFjjOdc7vQ_JkB4JOtgmVykYlE6w
Let me know if this helps.
Good to know! ^_^
Were you using the itch app? Someone posted elsewhere that it might be an issue with the app, as downloading from the itch.io website worked just fine.
Hey ho,
I just wanted to say that Caliross is one of the best games of the "female protagonist" rpg's of all time. I follow on patreon too and played so many different way's. But there is still so much untapped potential, like the nudist beach or another empty places. So I hope for so many Possibilities in the future. <3
Hi there!
Hello,
I want to say thank you for making such a a great game! I've been playing it for nearly a year and a half now and the updates have always been nice :D
I'd also like to ask if you're going to put this game on steam eventually?
Hi!
It's great to hear you are having fun. I am considering the option, but I am not sure yet. If the game gets on there, it's likely going to be once it's finished, and it will be free.
