To Become The Empress, You Must Impress

So, the new quest is finished, as mentioned last week. I am still debating whether or not I need one more obstacle to put in the way, but I am quite pleased with it, I get the feeling it's very smooth overall, although some of the stuff you have to do is probably a tad too easy.

Then I worked some more on chapter 6, mostly some writing, tying things together, planning the next phase and other assorted stuff. I did some writing for the short story and some mapping for the new harem scenes (I wrote some notes for those, but I haven't done the bulk of the work for them yet).

I think I also forgot to mention how I found a script to have the options take place before you load a save, and be independent from the saves. This means if you set the volume of the music lower, the opening theme won't blast your ears when you start the game anymore. The only downside is that you'll have to copy a new folder together with the savefiles, when upgrading to a new version, if you want to keep the settings. The main menu is also changed to show the options, since now it's useful to have it there.

I got my first vaccine shot last week. I felt a bit tired, but I don't think it affected development at all, so that's good. hopefully I won't have any major problems next time as well, and things will keep chugging along as they should.

This week I'll definitely write the new harem scenes (although it would be more appropriate to call them "Emperor's scenes", since I'll be adding a couple of dates with him if you won him over), and I'll try to work harder on chapter 6, before the usual round of testing, and releasing next week. Since I have kept up the pace, the release might happen on wednesday or thursday, as I don't have to hurry the release, we'll see.
