bots giving fake updater dont dowload dat 🤓

Figured I'd ask before trying: Does being Beatrix's pet block you out of finishing No Sacred Cows for Kira? I know that trying to work there becomes impossible because she'll order you away for your own safety (and to keep your blood tasty), but since No Sacred Cows requires you to be around the farm for awhile, does she interrupt things at any point? It never came up in the walkthrough.

Also, at what point do the Zantis cowify Keiko?

You should be able to do the quest without issues (there are ways to gather intel without working there, anyway). I can't remember what kind of failsafe I have in place for failure, though, I might have to double check.

For the Zanti, you need to get maids first (they'll be the ones providing the maids, at a certain point). Talking to one of the maids will allow you to set things in motion.

I have two questions. One, how do you get access to the Royal Library? And two, and excuse me if I'm a bit ranty, I spent a lot of time trying to work out where the first shapeshifting temple is, but I can't figure out, and your guide doesn't actually tell you how to access it. So how do I get there? And what method, like how to complete the questline to get, sort of deal. Please and thank you. Again, you might want to put an actual guide in how to get them in the guide through. Again, I apologize if this comes off as being mean or angry. I'm just a bit frustrated.

Since you know about the walkthrough, you should be able to CTRL+F for "royal library" to find this, but here is the current entry:

One of the two “advanced libraries” in the game. There are a few ways to gain access to it, but they are all tied to the Emperor (and thus, being a noble is prerequisite):

  1. Join his harem (see above);
  2. Have a relationship score of 5 or higher with the Emperor;
  3. Complete the quest “The Weak Link”;

This means that the library is only available from chapter 3 at the earliest.

As for the first temple, perhaps things got more complex over time, so I didn't account for certain possibilities. Are you using the schedule? If you never leave your house through the door, this scene won't trigger, but otherwise you should have a visit from a friend of your uncle after the first day. He tells you to go talk to him at the mage guild, and he will then guide you to the first temple (this visit gives you the quest "First Dig" in the questlog).

If this was the case, I can always modify the schedule to trigger the scene as well.

(+1)

Well, I talked to him a couple of times, but my dyslexia ass made me read the prompt to see the temple as see you later, or something like that. Great game, by the way.

Hey, as long as everything is fine now.
Glad you like the game! ^_^

How do I expand the window its so tiny

You can cycle through a few options with F5 and F6. Alt+Enter can also toggle fullscreen.

Is there any planned future content with Eliza beyond what is already in the game?

No, at least not at this point in time. If a few years down the line people are interested, I might release a "Caliross 1.1" update, and then I could reconsider, but for now it's complete.

(+1)

well count me as someone interested down the line

What does cursed equipment do? Just starting and I have the Magi crown and the pendant you can find early. It seems like cursed equipment just sticks to you unless you bless it at the temple? Do fun stuff happen or debuffs? It doesnt seem to affect the 3 personality stats.

The Magi Crown does affect your willpower (specifically, it gives +5 to intelligence and -10 to willpower).

Due to the way I originally programmed things (and later on, some conflicts between third-party scripts) the values don't update right away, but only after you exit and then re-enter the menu when it comes to equipment affecting your personal stats.

For the pendant, do you mean the Marintas's? If so, that one unlocks all unique hypno-themed scenes around the game. If you are talking about the weird pendant, you can take it off at will, if I remember right. That one affects wet dreams you get if you take a nap (higher slut reputation values unlock more scenes).

So, this is super random, and I think falls entirely into a "just thinking out loud about something I think would be neat" thing than a "this is a request you should take seriously", but given the quantity of brainwashing/trickery/etc. that happens to our sweet protagonist if it's permitted, I am a little sad that it seems like the Emperor's (least?) favorite priestess is quite so willing to accept your disinterest in her proposition, given that she apparently doesn't listen to the Emperor (or anyone else) who tells her not to do it (at least, so far as I can tell, maybe there's some scene related to this that already exists that I didn't run into).

In particular, I think it would make for interesting character narrative making if a "research focused virgin" or "lesbian, girls only!" Erica (IE: That's how the player is playing the character and making choices with the understanding that those are Erica's goals, role playing, as it were), could be pestered by the priestess to just hear her out, let her convince her, really think about how special and attractive the Emperor is, what it'd be like to be his Empress, etc. etc. and prayer blast her while her head was full of those thoughts, given that the Harem route already seems to suggest that the prayer and everything  made Erica go totally head over heels for the Emperor to the point where she's unable to distinguish its effects from however she might have felt before.

Maybe it's a little out of character for the priestess (...  Maybe not given her apparent scheme to manipulate her girlfriend into carrying 5 kids while she also carries 5 kids, perfectly aware that the court magician is too in love with her to resist despite the fact that it's not what she'd want otherwise), or the goddess, but in my head it'd be an interesting little variant on how to start that subplot for a character who wants to RP "not just agreeing to be goddess brainwashed, that seems like kind of a strange thing for my character to just say yes to" but...  You know, probably likes involuntary mind control if they're playing this game.

On a barely related note: Is there any way to know what the "slut reputation" value of an action is without cracking open the save file?  ...  And does it matter outside of the one guy in the slums and the priestess's comment?

...  Also, while making unreasonable requests for features (well, okay, making suggestions you're free to ignore, but those're sort of like requests if you look at them sideways), I do kinda wish the scheduling at your house was a little more generous.  Like, maybe the "friction" of it is supposed to be the point, that you're "spending effort" to do it, but being able to snap to, say, the place where you take care of your kids in the morning/afternoon to save you a number of loading screens of walking (in one direction, at least) would be nice?  While you'd still have to walk back to wherever you want to spend the first time slot, it'd be less tedious than setting your "start of day" thing to, like, the inn, walking out, walking down, etc. etc.  Since the game seems to want "visiting your kids if you got them" to be part of your daily routine (as they get sad if you don't, and you get minor buffs eventually if you do), it being integrated into the thing that lets you create daily routines feels...  Natural?  I dunno.  Similarly, while I don't know that there necessarily needs to be more places you can fast travel to, given that using the fast travel is part of getting scenes, and even unlocking at least one character's interactions, and so on, I've often found using it a bit cumbersome?  Frequently finding the nearest fast travel sign, remembering where the right spot to jump to, and then walking another screen or w/e over to get to where I'm going just ends up feeling not that much faster than walking manually, so a few more "start fast traveling here" signs, even if they're one way, seems like they couldn't hurt?  Because I mostly fast travel either to get to the Bazaar, or specifically to fish for scenes, which seems not...  Quite correct?  Also, "leave the city" as a fast travel option seems like it could be useful if you were going to add one?

Edit: Oh, random bonus thing?  Problem? Somethin'?  If you get caught by the Orc and start doing the "Queen" related tasks with the seer, while the game is perfectly capable of recognizing when you've ID'd the girl you're supposed to snag in the tavern, with the 3 check marks and such, I cannot, presently, figure out what to do from there.  My instinct was to go back to Navarra, but she just tells me who I'm looking for, talking to who I'm looking for doesn't give me any options, and I don't have any key items or spells that seem like they do anything?  Maybe this part just isn't finished, obviously (as the walkthrough notes that the content terminates after some sex scenes, maybe that's here?), but if it there IS some way to progress once you have the girl ID'd its sufficiently unintuitive I can't figure it out, and if there isn't some way to progress some notice of that fact would've been nice.

Let's see:
1) No plans to change the priestess interaction at this point. I am getting close to wrapping things up, so I am trying to focus on either things I wanted to have in the game, things that are unfinished, quality of life changes and the odd, small task which doesn't need too much time to get done.

2) Slut reputation unlocks certain scenes (like the guy in the slums) and it affects the ending you get with the emperor if it's too high (you can't become the empress).

3) I think I could add the Institute to the schedule as an "extra" for either the morning or the afternoon, that makes sense given how it works.

4) While I agree in theory, I am not sure where I could place more fast travel points. Since the schedule was added, fast travel has probably become even less useful. I'll see about adding a "leave the city" option.

5) The task can be completed, but Navarra wants you to be thorough and check all the "candidates" info, even ones where you already found that something doesn't match her prediction (basically, you should have a complete profile for ALL the girls).

1) Totally fair, as I said, that was more of "it'd be neat" than anything I really expected.

2) Is there any way to tell when an action raises it normally?  Or is it all really self apparent?  Like, you know, you can (sorta) date various characters, does everyone kiss and tell adding to your reputation, or is it only randos/public activity that add to it? etc.

3-4) Reasonable and thanks for considering making any alterations for QoL tweaks this late in design.

5) Oh, fair enough.  Yeah, I'll admit I did not find that intuitive.  Whether that's something that matters enough to adjust/put in the quest log/w/e, or if it's fine as is is obviously your call.

Actions that are "slutty" and "public" are generally what raise the slut reputation. Working at the brothel or doing some exhibitionist stuff, for example. Being a slut in private or in places where discretion is more expected is fine.

For Navarra's quest, the idea is that her power isn't perfect, so she wants to cross all the Ts. I'll see if I can change the dialogue to make it more obvious.

On ne peut pas etre alpha , 2 fois que je gagne 2 fois que ca freeeze????

Do you have the latest version? This should be fixed. If you do have version 0.9.29a and it still freezes, try winning the test on the first try and see if that helps.

Either a bug or I'm an idiot but I started a new game (back after a year or so) and I immediately tried to do the book sorting job at the apartment on Day 2. I'm stuck in an endless loop in the job. I am trying to sort alphabetically, but either one option greys out or all options are available and the quest seems to be bugged.

Edit: Okay I am an idiot and I'm gonna leave this for anyone else. The text box is a list you sort by switching the greyed out option with the selected option. Don't think this stumped me the first time but I failed today for 10 minutes

(1 edit)

I'm in Chapter 2 currently but I just wanted to praise the quests, puzzles and writing in the game. I started with bookworm character with max inhibition and high willpower and I'm just enjoying the base game even without following a lot of the NSFW paths (I do sometimes quick save and see "what if" though). Great work and a really high quality experience!

(+1)

Glad you are having fun with the game! I tried my best to have a fun base game, so I always appreciate hearing from people that enjoyed the gameplay.

Heavily Edited because I am apparently bad at paying attention:

Is there more to do with the Cursed Painting?  The setup for it makes it feel like it should be more than a repeating scene in your house (especially since it fails sometimes?), but no matter how low my character's Willpower gets or w/e nothing happens there or back with the girl who gave it to you?  Maybe there's just not supposed to be anything, but it kinda felt like it'd lead into more?

And secondly:  The Life Apple thing that "teaches a summon healing spells" or w/e making you choose one, plus the summoning section of your spell screen, makes it feel like you could get other summons besides the wind guy, but despite bringing some home in the pocket dimension, there doesn't...  Actually seem to be other summons?  Am I just reading too much into the RPG selection mechanics?

I recently added another random scene for the cursed painting once you have it at home (it will go public next month). What made you think it was going to lead to more? I don't have sprawling plans for the painting, so I might have to change some of the writing, if it's misleading.

The summons you can gather in the pocket dimension aren't "battle-oriented", so to speak. You can find other ones, that do fight with you, as alternatives to your current summon. There is one hidden in the second temple, one hidden in a secret temple in the woods near Tarkas (this one requires a lot of preparation, though, since you need the ritual gemstone from the first temple and to find a hidden area to "upgrade" the gemstone in the second temple AND you need a full moon), and there is one you can get if you impress the archmagus.

(1 edit)

Hrm, I guess I got the impression there was more to it because of the way the character up front was talking about all the painting work they do, all the STUFF going on (which I guess could just be implied to be lies to keep people who aren't of the, uh, 'right mind set' out of the basement?), and then during the scene in your house the amulet like, apparently teleports to you and stuff (though maybe that's just in your head?  It's phrased like it isn't, though, you're just too brainwashed to notice) that at least make it feel like more is going to come of it, especially since magic amulets or similar markers (albeit ones that end up in your inventory) tend to be the signifier of being tied to a particular path/subject to being mind controlled back to the subject later/w/e.

I will grant, I might just be reading too much into it, it could be more that most things that tend to go past like 2 interactions seem to go to 5+ a lot of the time, and so I'm just having misfiring pattern recognition.

I get what you mean. Since the painting has the opening scene, plus the scene where you pose, and then the content when it's in your house, I thought it might be enough. Since it's a late addition to the game, I didn't have big plans for it, but maybe a scene that feels more "final" would help with it, I'll have to think about it.

If nothing else, if you just want it to be clear that "there's nothing more here", having it just loop the one scene, rather than sometimes doing the scene and then sometimes not, would possibly help?  Since, for most other relationships, brainwashings, etc., when you hit the terminus point it's either revisiting one last scene, or talking to the person doesn't get you a scene and instead you have a couple that spring up randomly, like the Charm version of Sonya's thing, where it's sometimes when you enter the zone, and sometimes when you fast travel for other variants, and so on.  The simple fact that there was two interactions, one of which where nothing seemed to happen other than getting the pink eyes for a bit, and the normal scene, probably also contributed to me idea that there had to be something else there, because otherwise what were those false starts about (according to my internal logic)?

...  And failing that, could always add it to the H-Scene collection doc, so people who are braining at it and can't figure out what to do next can look it up and go "Oh, there isn't anything to do next."

See also: Me and...  Kye?  I think?  The werewolf guy on the building roof who insists werewolf girls should be bimbos, but doesn't seem to get a scene variant if you actually are a bimbo.  Or maybe he does and there's some further requirements to it?  Dunno!  I'm sure you've been inundated, over time, with people reading too much into "Oh hey, character made reference to (whatever) mind/fetish state that exists in the game" then responding to it with: "I should go get it and come back!"  when that was more supposed to be in scene fetishization than hints/instructions.  Can't write every possible iteration/interaction angle or you'll drown in the authorial work, after all.

I see what you mean. Since I had made the scene with the painting trigger randomly, that caused confusion. Maybe I'll limit it to once per day if you get the full scene.

You do get some very minor differences in Kyle's scene if you are a bimbo, but for the most part things play out the same. I don't want to write a new scene for it, but I'll take a look when I have some time, and see if I can extend the differences a bit more, so that it feels more unique if you have the trait.

Yeah, as you said, it can be tough to account for every little thing. Sometimes I think I should have used a smaller number of characters, and focus on each a bit more, but it's useless to think about that stuff now that the game is almost finished.

Not sure if this is a bug or I have done something wrong but when dispelling the boxes by the pub the trapdoor does not open and unable to go the the room below.

Are you playing the latest public version (0.9.29a)? That one should work just fine (I just tested it).

Verified that I am running the latest.  I will start another run when I finish this one and try again.  Love the game.

(+1)

If you have the newest version, it should work... Did you use detect magic first? Erica won't really use Dispel if she doesn't notice there is magic at play first. If this doesn't work, maybe share your save with me, and I can try to dig deeper.

(+1)

Thanks for responses. When i play again I will try again and if I still cant then will reach out. Going to replay this after I finish to see other paths. The only thing I did differently than normal was get dispel before joining a guild and tried to enter.

I'm having issues wuth getting the zani brand or knowing if i got it

(+1)

Hey, sorry for the delay (itch messes up the email notifications from time to time >_<).
To know if you got it, it's simple: if you go to "personal info" in the menu and press enter a second time, you can check your tattoos, traits and so on (the Zanti brand counts as a tattoo). Note that the brand is magical, so it usually doesn't show during regular scenes.

Have you considered either adding more save slots, or adding a way to add a name or a note to a save slot? Two issues I run into is A. with the amount of scenes in the game I want to revist, I've already reached the max amount of save slots and have to multipurpose some of them, and B. I can't always tell which save slot is for which event just from what chapter they're in and how long the play time is.

(+1)

The amount of save slots is already larger than the default. I can look into expanding it, though. How many do you think would be enough?

I'll look into adding notes to the saves, but no promises.

(+1)

I will admit I'm not sure how much would exactly be enough. My first thought is "make it 100 cause that will definitely be more than enough," but I have no clue how difficult getting that many extra slots to work would be.

(+1)

Just finished, I must say that it's a great game

Glad you enjoyed it! ^_^

Umm... I took the book sorting job and now I'm kinda stuck, I don't know what order the books need to go in and I checked the walkthrough and saw no mention of this job

I've been at it for a while and yeah... kinda stuck and I forgot to save before this

(+1)

The books must be ordered alphabetically, and you must select first one then another to switch their positions. It's a bit late, but I hope this helps.

Is there a way to make Lea a cow ?

There is no way. I wanted to add it for a long time, but there was always something else to work on, and now I am working on finishing the game, so it's not happening for now.
